The Happiness Files: Good Old Hard Work

After months of bit-by-bit cleaning, today Kym and I finished clearing out the garage & patio (office and spare room are almost done) ready for the Christmas season (and our soon to be delivered pool table!). After a *cough* late night, we (Kym) didn't start off very enthused. Even so, through the rain and wind, we finally finished an hour ago. I feel fantastic. I can knock two things off of my list which I've been worrying about for too long AND I'm physically exhausted.

Wait. Did I say that?

My current day job can be mentally and emotionally exhausting at times, but it does not lend itself to physical exhaustion. Sometimes I'm restless with all the energy I have left at the end of the day. I'd almost forgotten just how good it feel to work hard and tire your body. All the stress I've been harbouring for the last week seems far, far away.

So thanks, Good Old Hard Work, for getting the job done and reminding me how good it can feel to be tired once in a while.

What's made you happy this week?

  2. So glad to hear you got the garage and patio done! Must be a weekend for it - I finished hand washing baby girl's clothes and I tackled our bedroom which is super clean now (I know you can appreciate it cause you saw it at its worse lol!) Doesn't it feel wonderful to accomplish something even it was cleaning!

What do you have next on your to do list apart from your office/study?
Mine is the study to start during the week and finish on the weekend before dad gets here.

Then, once all that cleaning and organising is done, more time for arts and crafts and opshopping!!
