it's time to replace the retaining wall... eek!
A few months ago we had a preventative termite treatment around our home. We live in a green, termite friendly area and we discovered our local termite population had made a whole lotta impact on our little plot of land, particularly on our retaining walls (photo above is on the worst affected retaining wall, which needs attention asap).
We're lucky we caught them before the made it to the house, but at some point soon we'll need to replace our retaining walls with non-timber materials. Now the question is... Which material will we choose? We'd like to find something both affordable and environmentally sustainable (preferably, we'd also like something that looks nice!).
What materials would you use?
