Check out this vid showing some amazing architectural community work taking place in a Haiti community that continues to be affected by the 2010 earthquake. Konbit Shelter Project uses primarily earth and recycled materials to create a dome shaped home (which, because of it's shape, is much more resistant to earthquakes). The project aimed to design a home using methods and materials that are accessible to this rural community, and is DIY inspired, with an aim to provide the locals with a handbook so they can make it themselves. It's the ultimate in sustainable, right?
