... and we're tidy!

After another day of pottering and tidying up, I'm no longer ashamed of our spare/guest room:

And the best part is under the bed...

It's a huge improvement from our recent cry for help:

You know what I think is hard? Valuing thriftiness and zen at the same time. It's a tough balance to pull off, and today I felt the pull of thriftiness tugging at me as I discarded many a useless item. At some point you can't just keep things for the sake of keeping them (and avoiding putting them in the trash... or your house becomes the trash yard).

What do you find hard when it comes to sorting/tidying?

  1. Oh I know how you feel - I get attached to things! But after a few years of not using I can generally 'let go'. I'm sure I will be trying to 'cull' in this move.
    Love the before photos lol.

    1. I find it harder to 'let go' of art materials than anything else, even when paint goes bad, I think "but I could use this for a project down the track..."

  2. I'm jealous of your underbed space, I recently de-cluttered & tidying our bedroom, but only by storing lots under the bed!! what a great feeling!

    1. He hee the difference is there's only 2 of us in the household, as opposed to 4, so you totally have an excuse for using under the bed (we have NO excuse but hoarding)
