Remember this post? The last time you saw my front yard, the progress was here:
Well, I've done a little more (when I say little, I'm being humble... I have worked my freaking arse off... time spent in my front yard has surely reached double-digit hours by now) and I wanted to show you. The best thing about this makeover-in-progress is that so far, it has been absolutely FREE.
Last weekend I found some unused kitchen tiles in the shed and circled them around the succulent garden/unloved tree and shoveled fallen leaves to create "mulch" (I was more concerned about the added ambiance). This weekend, I did the same thing to the almond tree (but this time with bathroom tiles- see what I did there? It's the same, but different).
Here's how the front yard is looking now:
So, what do you think? Love it or hate it? Kym didn't love the idea at first, but is coming around following my argument that with our current budget of zero, we require zero cost methods. I'm starting to see the potential of the garden, which is probably the best thing that's come out of the changes so far.
